Toyota adds some scary spice to create RAV4 Fierce
4X4 MOMMYMOBILE GETS NUDGE BAR, WINK WINK..
December 1, 2009
Toyota SA has created a limited edition derivative of its RAV4 compact 4x4 softroader based on the 2.0 GX model and called it, scarily, the Fierce.
The automaker is presumably capitalising on its changed face that, one also supposes, is intended to make this inoffensive 4x4 mommymobile rather more "aggressive" in others' rear-view mirrors.
It's exterior enhancements, therefore, include black over-fenders, black door mouldings, stylised “Fierce” branding on the rear-mounted spare wheel cover (to scare off tailgaters?) and, the ultimate urban requirement, a black polyurethane nudge bar
There's also a custom-embroidered carpet set.
The three-door RAV4 is due to be replaced in some markets by the Urban Cruiser.
The Fierce is available painted in silver metallic or "super" white but the cabin comes only in dark grey. And also scary is that the packaged, at R308 600, adds R14 600 to the price of a GX.

SCARY STUFF! Toyota SA has added black door ding bars, a tailgating deterrent, embroidered carpets and a sweet nudge bar to its 4x4 RAV4 and called it the RAV4 Fierce. Grrrr. |
